Finally, someone had the balls to shut Donald Trump’s big mouth. Trump’s latest Truth Social post did it for Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing the fraud trial against Trump. During the second day of trial, Engoron was quoted by the Associated Press: “Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate, and I won’t tolerate them. … Consider this statement a gag order forbidding all parties from posting … about any of my staff.” Who can blame Judge Engoron after Trump’s Truth Social post? CBS News reported that Trump posted a photo of Judge Engoron’s clerk, Alison Greenfield, standing next to Chuck Schumer, referring to her as Schumer’s “girlfriend.” He also posted a link to her private Instagram. Trump has completely lost it, but let’s be honest: someone is helping him with this. He’s not smart enough to smoke out people’s social media pages.

As the Independent detailed, Trump is completely silent in court, but once he hits the hallways, he begins giving impromptu press conferences, which have included insulting Judge Engoron and his clerk. Of course, he’s always posting vitriol on his failed social media site. You know what this sounds like? A coward, but that’s what Trump is and always has been. He can talk a big game behind anyone’s back, but he doesn’t have the balls to do it to their faces. The Independent also reported that the judge ordered Trump to remove the post about his clerk. He is so pathetic. He’s like a high school teenager who has a rivalry going with another teenager. Trump is almost 80 years old, and it is far time he grew up. He can denigrate the trials against him and the jurists overseeing them all he likes, but these trials are going to force him into reality.

Prior to Trump being gagged, he told reporters: “This trial is a rigged trial. You saw what was just put out about [Chuck] Schumer and the principal clerk – that is disgraceful.” Trump thinks people are stupid. He talked as if someone else put it out there and he just “heard” about it. As soon as the lunch recess ended, Judge Engoron let Trump have it. The judge didn’t call him by name because he didn’t need to. Everyone knew to whom he was speaking: “One of the defendants posted from a social media account a disparaging, untrue and personally identifying post about a member of my staff.” He added: “It was also emailed out to millions of other recipients.” Judge Engoron ordered it deleted and let Trump know that he would not put up with any of his foolishness, especially after he had already warned defense counsel just the day before.

Trump will learn one way or another that this isn’t his world, and he is completely out of his element. Judge Engoron seems to have no qualms about issuing additional sanctions, including jail. While it seems that Judge Chutkan is slow to move on Trump’s behavior, just wait. She’s merely giving him enough rope to hang himself.
