Donald Trump is now just days from getting hit with another devastating verdict
Donald Trump just lost $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll, an amount that he probably won’t be able to come up with just by cobbling together his cash position and/or tapping into his campaign donations. Even if he can get his hands on that kind of money, he’s just days away from having a much bigger problem.
Trump’s civil trial with New York Attorney General Letitia James ended a little while ago, but because Trump didn’t opt for a jury trial, the judge will end up determining the damages. The judge in the case has already summarily ruled against Trump, so we’re just waiting for the dollar amount. The judge most recently stated that he would attempt to deliver that verdict by the end of this month. Of course that would be this coming Wednesday.
James is seeking $370 million from Trump. The judge could grant that amount, or go lower, or go higher. But Trump is likely set to lose something in the ballpark of that $370 million figure. When you add that to the $83 million he just lost to Carroll, now we’re talking about close to a half a billion dollars.
There’s no way Trump has that kind of cash on hand. Combined, these two verdicts are going to destroy him financially. The fact that they’re set to come within days of each other is just poetic timing.
