Donald Trump is just playing pretend at this point

He was born on 18 July 1918. I’m sure nobody knew the day of his birth just what this man would grow up to do. He conquered mountains. He introduced firsts. He became a politician, an activist, and a hero.

He was loved – deeply loved, and although he has passed, his name will be part of history — the good type of history — always. His name is Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. He was vehemently opposed to apartheid and spent much of his life fighting it.

He was the first president of South Africa from 1994-1999. Before all this, Mandela had been arrested and imprisoned, as protesters and activists are known to sometimes be. He was sentenced to life in prison.

He spent 27 years in prison and was released in 1990. Now, there is another “person” ( (and I use that term loosely) to speak about. This man has never had an achievement in his life. Existing as s spoiled brat early in life, he grew up hard, bitter, and cold-eyed.

He developed a reputation vastly different from Mandela’s. This man was known for ripping people off, setting up fake universities, and not paying his contractors. One day, he bizarrely became President. His time in office sucked, and he lost bigly in the next election. He then refused to leave office, resulting in an attempted insurrection. This second man has just compared himself to the first man, Mandela.

You see, THIS Man, Donald Trump, has ninety-plus charges against him. He might just go to prison for life. He discussed this in Derry, New Hampshire, a beautiful town, a town too nice for someone like Donald Trump.

He does not mind prison that much really, he mused aloud, because he does not mind “being Nelson Mandela.” That is like comparing a rare and tropical flower to a crushed and ugly ground weed. It’s like comparing hate to love, good to evil, pureness of heart to no heart at all.

But Donald Trump said this, and one can see the tainted wheels in his head spinning, already trying to see what he can get out of prison, how he can spin his tale, already internally designing his next con, already trying to Martyr himself.

It will never be! Donald Trump will be in the history books as a traitor, not a Martyr. The people of the future — most of them anyway — will look on him with much the same scorn as we do.

The Trump legacy will be that of pain and suffering and rage and evil. That is ALL it will be.Trump is a sinner, not a saint. He is evil itself. That cannot and will not change. Trump can scheme till the cows come home, he can hope and wish and play his usual game of pretend. But nothing he does or says can change who he is. And who he is, is really nothing at all.
