Donald Trump has completely unhinged meltdown about getting his wife’s name wrong

Days ago a video clip went viral in which Donald Trump said something about his “wife” during a speech, only to then refer to “Mercedes.” Some observers thought he was calling Melania “Mercedes” while others thought perhaps Trump had decided that CPAC organizer Mercedes Schlapp was now his wife. Either way it was a bad look for Trump, and it brought up even more discussion about his worsening senility.

Now Trump is protesting way too much by posting this unhinged video in which he claims he didn’t get confused about his wife. He then he goes on to claim that when he keeps saying Barack Obama is the current President, he’s doing it for “comedic reasons.” Yeah, Trump sounds awfully defensive:

The upshot here is that no matter how thoroughly Trump’s babysitters try to insulate him from how his world is crumbling around him, things are still leaking through. He’s clearly hearing the increasing rumblings about his worsening senility, and he’s very angry and defensive about it. Trump has to know something is wrong with his cognitive abilities, or he wouldn’t be this defensive about the whole thing.
