Donald Trump is a sociopath and a bully who likes to torture people. But he’s also an increasingly senile clown who has no idea what’s going on. This is resulting in a number of witless swings and misses on his part, including a failed attempt at intimidating E. Jean Carroll’s lawyer which made Trump look like a fool.

Carroll’s attorney Roberta Kaplan now says that when she visited Mar-a-Lago to take a deposition in the case, Donald Trump tried to intimidate her by pointing out that she wouldn’t be able to get any lunch that day. The intimation was that because Trump owned the property, he was going to make sure that no one at the resort was willing to serve her any food. That’s when Kaplan pointed out that Trump’s own attorneys had already set her up with lunch. Trump then realized his little gambit had failed, and he angrily threw a pile of papers across the table before storming out.

Kaplan says that it’s common practice for opposing counsel to take care of courtesies like lunch in these situations. Trump has surely been through enough of these depositions to know this. But with his mind failing, he appears to have forgotten how things work. And so Trump’s petty attempt at forcing Carroll’s attorney to go hungry instead backfired on him rather hilariously.

We’re going to see more of this. Donald Trump is just as mean, petty, vindictive, and cruel as ever. But he’s also more confused than ever about what’s going on, where he is, and how things work. So his efforts at bullying are going to increasingly leave him looking powerless, feeling frustrated, and acting out accordingly. It’s all downhill for Trump from here.
