“It was the wont of the immortal gods sometimes to grant prosperity and long impunity to men whose crimes they were minded to punish in order that a complete reversal of fortune might make them suffer more bitterly.” – Julius Caesar. That quote could have been written about Donald Trump himself.

Trump long got away with his crimes. Those who grew up in New York or New Jersey probably were long aware of some of his crimes, like that of refusing to pay workers, for example.

So Trump grew cocky. He thought he could get away with anything, even murder, mayhem, and insurrection. Oh no. Fate, Karma, and Lady Justice are busy at work, making the traitor pay this very minute.

But Trump is still in denial. He is still wiggling like a particularly ornery fish to slip out of the net that has wrapped itself about him. Trump has demanded (and I DO mean demanded) in a Tuesday court filing that he be given a new trial in the E. Jean Carroll case.

Trump’s state of denial is strong. Trump’s argument seems to be that Judge Kaplan: “wrongly prohibited him from defending himself.”

I have never used the laugh-out-loud abbreviation in a Palmer Report article. I shall do so now. I think this occasion calls for it, don’t you? LOL. If Trump SERIOUSLY thinks that this ASININE request has ONE IOTA OF A CHANCE of working, his brain is rotting quicker than we ever thought.

Trump and his lawyers are not too swift on the uptake. You know that expression “Keystone cops?” Well, they’re the keystone defendant and lawyers. Everything they do gets rejected. It’s not difficult to understand why.

It appears Trump cannot accept that he’s been beaten in this case, and he was defeated by a woman at that, an elegant, eloquent woman who, with ever-so-gentle-determination, reduced Trump to mincemeat in that courtroom.

I do not doubt that Trump would do almost anything to get out of paying. But alas! He will not be able to. Let me return to the quote I started with. It is a complete reversal of fortune for Trump, and because he skated for so long, by NOT being held accountable, that certainly makes his CURRENT situation quite a bit more bitter.
