Donald Trump can’t even speak during unhinged attempt at a speech

These days Donald Trump doesn’t give speeches so much as he attempts to give speeches. It’s not just that his speeches are bad, it’s that he can’t even give them. He can’t follow what’s on the teleprompter. He can’t stay on topic. He can’t figure out how to make sense. And, increasingly, he can’t even speak.

Take, for instance, this moment today:

Wait, he won the election trice? That’s technically an obscure word, but it’s not the word that Trump was trying to say. Further, this isn’t some kind of built in speech impediment, given that he had just finished pronouncing the word correctly a few seconds earlier. This is some kind of cognitive collapse. It’s time we call it what it is.
