Donald Trump is going to go completely bonkers over this today
Things that actually happened yesterday: oil prices suddenly dropped about twenty percent overnight, taking stock market futures down about five percent. Donald Trump tweeted an image of himself playing the violin. And Ted Cruz announced he’s quarantined because he’s been exposed to the coronavirus.
Things that are likely going to happen today: based on the fact that the UK stock market is currently down around seven percent, the U.S. stock market will plummet in some similar fashion. And because some Republican politicians are now in danger from the coronavirus themselves, other Republican politicians will finally start publicly pushing back against Trump’s assertion that the virus is some kind of hoax.
Donald Trump would have a hard time keeping his stuff together today if even one of the above things were going on. But as it stands, everything is in freefall today. Late last night Trump was tweeting ethnic slurs at the Governor of New York. Now Trump is waking up to far worse news today, and he’s going to react to it in far more unhinged fashion. The only question is whether Trump will have his big meltdown today in private or in public. At this point the United States is in a crisis and it does not have a President.
