Bring it on, jackass

Earlier this evening Palmer Report pointed out that all of Donald Trump’s recent attempts at fighting back against his impending downfall were little more than tantrums. He sent his House GOP goons into a SCIF in an unsuccessful attempt at blocking a witness from testifying. He has his people sending whiny letters to witnesses. Now Trump and his chief henchman Bill Barr have gone and pulled the kind of move that means it’s all over for them both.

Bill Barr and his Department of Justice have opened a criminal inquiry into its own investigation into the Trump-Russia scandal, according to a report from the New York Times tonight. Some folks in the Resistance are going to cower over this news, but that’s the wrong response. This move means that Trump’s life is now 100% over. He’ll spend the rest of his life in a cage.

This demonstrates that Donald Trump has absolutely nothing left. He knows he can’t stop impeachment from taking him down. He knows he can’t stop himself from being indicted by that New York grand jury that’s about to get his tax returns. Yet instead of trying to find a way to turn things around for himself, or at least mitigate the holy hell that’s about to destroy every last inch of his life, Trump is wasting his very limited remaining time and ammunition on an idiotic stunt like this. For that matter, it’s the kind of criminal stunt that ensures their prison sentences will stretch all the way to the end of their natural life spans. Their lives are now over.

Yes, this phony new probe is a crime in and of itself. Yes, it’s horrifying. Yes, it’s grotesque. It also means that Donald Trump, and for that matter Bill Barr, will spend the rest of their lives in solitary confinement. This guarantees it. Bring it on, jackass. You just screwed yourself beyond words, you blithering idiot.
