Let’s just say you’re a Republican Senator or Congressman. You find yourself in a real-life fairy tale where you get one political wish — anything you want — and this wish will be immediately granted.

I’d not be surprised if many a Republican chose, as their wish, to have Donald Trump vanish from the republican party. This is because behind the scenes, many, if not most, Republicans are said to utterly despise Donald Trump. They blame him for their losing streak; they see what a screwed-up SOB he is, and they know — though they pretend otherwise, what an albatross he is.

So yes, were the GOP to receive one wish many might indeed choose — to vanish Trumpism to exile. Sadly, life is not a fairy tale. It IS, however, at times, a nightmare — sort of a dark fairy tale, if you will. And Republicans have just found out one of their wishes has bit the dist.

That wish is to stop paying Donald Trump’s legal bills. The RNC has failed to generate enough support in its quest to get out of spending all its money on Donald Trump and his legal issues.

Henry Barbour, who was very involved in this effort, confirmed to the media that the resolution that was carefully crafted by Barbour himself is “dead.” Dead. As in — no can do.

He needed cosponsors from ten states (Barbour is from Mississippi). He did not get those ten. Therefore, the resolution is dead in the water. It does look like the RNC should be preparing themselves.

They should be preparing themselves for little money to be spent on down-ballot candidates and few dollars to be thrown into purple states. After all, Lara Trump has vowed to “spend every penny” to help Trump.

So, the money will go to Trump for legal bills and his campaign. But what of all the OTHER things needed for the RNC to keep their candidates on the map? Bad fairy tale, indeed. Sounds more like a horror film. Republicans are starring in their own downfall. And there’s nothing they can do to end the nightmare.
