82 percent!
Life can be, at times, like an ocean in its vast and ever-changing turbulence. Sometimes the waves of life can be dangerous, unyielding in their storminess, often reaching out and trying to pull you under.
Other times, however, the tides are gentle, even loving. And a sense of calmness and even joy come rolling in. Perhaps this news will bring help to hasten the joy. There is new data out. This is a poll done by Data for Progress.
They wanted to know what the top issue is for young voters. The people polled were democratic voters under the age of 45. And among these voters, it was found that abortion is THE top issue. In total, 82 percent of respondents pointed toward abortion as their top issue. That’s extraordinary.
These voters are an important voting group. And they will have to turn out in large numbers. It was found that almost 90 percent of these voters say abortion rights are a “very important issue” or a “somewhat important issue.”
That stands to reason. These voters have had the protections of Roe all their lives. They have not ever walked this earth WITHOUT them. Is it any surprise they would be so angry now?
This is yet another repudiation of the extreme court, and they’re attempting to legislate from the bench. All of what has happened this week — the Kansas vote, now this poll — shows something clearly. We’ve got momentum. We’re on the winning side. We have the support of millions. This poll clearly shows we have the truth on our side.
So yes, the tides of life have rolled in some excellent news for us today. But we must keep our guard up. We must not get sedentary. And it is always good to run like we’re behind. We can win. We WILL win. So let’s continue fighting for women, freedom, and America.
