Donald Trump’s latest “insurrection” falls flat

Of all the absurd narratives leading up to Donald Trump’s indictment and arrest in Manhattan earlier this year, perhaps the most absurd was the notion that there would be widespread organized violence surrounding it, and perhaps even a Civil War. Of course this was never realistic. The violence we saw on January 6th was solely a product of Trump’s supporters knowing that he had control over federal law enforcement at the time. Without Trump being able to put his thumb on the scale, Trump’s coward supporters were always going to cower – and they did.

Yet even after everyone saw that nothing came of Trump’s meek vague attempt at inciting another insurrection surrounding his Manhattan arrest, we still heard narratives about how there was going to be wide scale violence surrounding his DOJ arrest today.

Instead we saw a mere smattering of oddball losers show up outside the courthouse and wave their pro-Trump flags, and that was that. They just stood there. You never know if one unstable person is going to do something violent. But there was never going to be organized violence today. Trump vaguely tried to motivate his people to turn out and do something ugly today. But all it did was prove that he can’t even rally his losers anymore. He’s out of gas and so are they.
