“Never again Trumper.” These words come from Paul Ryan. Remember him? If you do not, I don’t blame you, as former Speaker Ryan is not an extremely memorable person. On ABC News, Ryan explained that he now calls himself a “Never again Trumper.”

How sweet! And original. “I want to win, and we lose with Trump,” Ryan said profoundly. “It was really clear to us in 18, in 20, and now in 2022.” I’m sorry — WHAT? What is the man talking about?

Let us analyze these brilliant words together, shall we readers? “It was clear to us in 18.” OK — So why no denouncement of him then, Paul? Did the cat have your tongue for all these years?

“It was really clear to us in 2020.” Really? There was still silence. Forgive me, if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure I didn’t hear any of you cowards come out against Trump back then.

“And now in 2022.” Really? I am still not hearing much resistance to Trump. In fact, your possible future speaker, cowardly Kev, is running around making all sorts of promises, Mr. Ryan. Perhaps he will even make a visit to Mar-A-Lago soon to kiss the ring yet again. Anything’s possible with Kevin.

There is no love lost between Ryan and Trump. That we know. But Ryan is not exactly the poster child for courage. This is because Ryan ran. He was one of the ones who threw up his hands and said, “I quit.”

He did nothing to stand up to Trump, and he is doing nothing now. If he thinks a few pretty words in an interview is enough, he is sorely mistaken.
