Bad news for Clarence Thomas

Good news! America appears to have come together on a significant issue of pressing concern. That issue is that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas needs to be investigated. Well — he might be a lousy Court Justice, but he’s brought people together on this issue. In a new poll by Demand Justice and Heart Research Associates, a stunning 61 percent of people polled said there needs to be an investigation launched into Thomas.

Only 25 percent of people polled opposed such an investigation. Here is exactly how the question was asked: “So far, Clarence Thomas has not recused himself from cases about the 2020 election, which may violate a federal law requiring justices to abstain in certain cases.”

“Do you favor or oppose Congress beginning an investigation into Justice Thomas over this issue?” Apparently the verdict is in — people want to see an investigation launched.

What this tells us is that the American people disapprove of the way Mr. Thomas is conducting himself. And there is good reason for that. Clarence Thomas has not said one damn word about any of his scandals. As we have noted, the man simply appears to feel he is above the law.

Only he isn’t. There are increasing calls for Thomas to resign. I highly doubt that will happen. But at the very least, we know the American people are in lockstep on this very important issue.

The Supreme Court has been terribly damaged, and I do not think it is too extreme a statement to say that Mr. Thomas is responsible for much of that damage. The lack of professionalism in his smug silence speaks for itself, and the message that it sends is an odious one.
