What are you supposed to do when you’ve spent months dishonestly defending Donald Trump in his Ukraine scandal, only for the whole thing to get blown out of the water by newly released impeachment testimony transcripts? If you’re Lindsey Graham, who’s been cartoonishly far off the deep end for some time now, you go even further off the deep end.

Today we all learned that U.S. Ambassador Gordon Sondland went back to the House impeachment inquiry this week and revised his testimony, this time acknowledging his role in what he knew was a criminal quid pro quo scandal. The transcript of former U.S. Envoy Kurt Volker was also released today, and it served to further spell out just how guilty Trump and Rudy Giuliani are.

Of course Lindsey Graham has just finished running his own reputation through a shredder in the name of insisting that Donald Trump is an innocent victim of… well, whatever Lindsey has been babbling about during any given week. Now these transcripts destroy Trump, and destroy the credibility of anyone on the inside who has been insisting all along that Trump didn’t do it.

According to Kathryn Watson and Alan He of CBS News, Lindsey Graham greeted the Sondland and Volker news by saying this: “I’ve written the whole process off … I think this is a bunch of B.S.” No really, this is all that a United States Senator has to say about an active impeachment inquiry into the President of the United States. If that’s how Lindsey feels, it’s time for him to resign. Immediately.
