We already know that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating Donald Trump, many of his current and former advisers, and several of his family members for their roles in the Trump-Russia scandal. Now we’re finally getting confirmation that Mueller isn’t merely targeting the likes of Donald Trump Jr and Jared Kushner. He’s also targeting Ivanka Trump, due to her involvement with the Trump Tower meeting with Russian government representatives.
Ivanka was not in the meeting with her brother and her husband. But it turns out she met with the Russian government representatives in a Trump Tower elevator, according to a new Los Angeles Times Report (link). Not only was Ivanka involved, Mueller is specifically targeting her involvement, and he’s sought to determine what went on in that elevator.
While there have been various reports connecting Ivanka to Trump Organization money laundering, this is the first confirmation that Ivanka was involved in the Trump-Russia election rigging conspiracy. It’s long been confirmed that her husband and brother played significant roles, and that they’re both under investigation for it. This raises questions of how Mueller learned about the elevator meeting, and who from that day in Trump Tower may be actively cooperating with him.
Up to now it’s appeared that Ivanka Trump would only come under investigative scrutiny due to her past role in spearheading Trump Organization deals with convicted Russian mafia money laundering figure Felix Sater. But based on this new reporting, Ivanka played some kind of role in the Trump-Russia scandal during the election as well. What went on in that elevator? We don’t know, but Mueller now does.
