The one thing that can stop Trump in his tracks
Back during the days of the second World War, prosecuting journalists was the norm. Many journalists lost their freedoms, and some their lives, all for doing honest work, all for doing the people’s work. And even today, in many countries such as Russia, freedom of the press finds itself in danger. Activists see themselves in danger. Political dissidents find themselves in danger. All we have to do is look at Alexei Navalny.
I salute the brave journalists, activists, and righteous political reporters who speak truth to power and who stand unafraid and unchanged, unwilling to let go of their morality no matter who tries to take it from them. Donald Trump would love to take it from them.
CNN recently reported on an app. What this app does is track immigration enforcement operations. The people who choose to engage with this app can monitor what ICE is up to and where their raids are taking place. It is called ICEBLOCK. Only Donald Scum Trump does not LIKE this app, probably because it’s a good thing and trump hates anything that is designed to do good. So now he is calling for an investigation into CNN. It figures.
Tom Homan, the “border czar” (just another word for psychopath), is also losing it over this app. He has called for an investigation into CNN. I’ve been hard on CNN in the past. I know I have, but that does not mean their right to freedom of the press should be taken from them. Nobody in the country of America should ever be investigated for telling the truth.
We always knew Trump loathed journalists (other than the ones from Fox) and would do anything to be able to shut them down. He hates anything negative that is said about him. He is not a fan of free speech. If Sharia law could be done in this country, he’d do it.
Now — the good news is that Trump is so senile that he is not coherent enough to lead ANY investigation. Most of the people around him are incompetent. Journalists have the First Amendment on their side as well. The first Amendment is the rose among thorns. The first Amendment can never be wiped away even by the extreme court, much as John Roberts may wish it could be.
The First Amendment is one of the rose petals in the floating garden called the U.S. Constitution. This amendment is the little tickle in Donald Trump’s orange ear, reminding him that its power far exceeds the power of the senile one. My gosh, how that must infuriate our orange boy, that the Constitution was written before HE had a chance to weigh in!
Trump will walk away with nothing because the First Amendment — this wonderful SOARING Amendment trumps, pardon the pun, anything that Donald John Trump, king of senility and lord of insurrections, may try to do. And THAT should give us a lot of hope.
