Donald Trump has yet another crisis on his hands, and this time it’s coming from directly within his own base. He had dinner with the Democratic leadership on Wednesday, and afterwards the Democrats announced that they’d reached a deal with Trump to keep DACA and ditch the border wall. This sent his base into a panic, and his biggest cheerleader had an outright meltdown over it.

There is no bigger Trump cheerleader or Trump apologist than Fox News host Sean Hannity. Not only does Hannity use his show each night to spin fiction for Trump’s benefit, the two men reportedly also regularly have private phone calls to discuss strategy. But let’s just say that Hannity isn’t taking the news of Trump’s immigration flip-flop particularly well. In fact he posted a series of tweets which are darn near apoplectic.

Hannity began by aiming his ire at the Republican Party leadership: “Politicians are supposed to keep their word. R’s failed on Healthcare, broke their word They have failed!” But then he quickly shifted his anger toward his pal Trump: “POTUS needs to keep his promises.” From there he got more angry: “And if @POTUS doesn’t keep that promise, and goes for amnesty, it will be the political equivalent [of] ‘read my lips, no new taxes.'” But because that wasn’t enough, he continued.

Eventually Hannity tweeted “Weak R’s have betrayed voters. @POTUS needs to stay the course and keep his promises or it’s over! Pelosi and Schumer can never be trusted.” Then he went there: “If reports true 100%. I blame R’s. They caused this. They wanted him to fail and now pushed him into arms of political suicide–IF TRUE.” Not shockingly, shortly after the news leaked, Trump had Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweet a denial that Trump had caved on the border wall. But at this point even his own base seems unsure what to believe.
