Last week we brought you the story of how Jared Kushner had become a “person of interest” in the ongoing investigation into Donald Trump’s Russia scandal (link). Now things have taken a more serious turn, as NBC News is confirming that the FBI is now scrutinizing Kushner’s activities as part of the Trump-Russia scandal, and this may change everything.

NBC is spelling out that this still doesn’t necessarily mean Jared Kushner is being viewed by the FBI as a suspect (link); that part hasn’t been clarified. But this does mean that Kushner’s actions in the Russia scandal are in fact being scrutinized. It also means that the FBI isn’t backing down one bit after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey to try to make the Russia investigation go away.

So which of Jared Kushner’s activities are being scrutinized by the FBI? That’s not being stated. But Kushner secretly met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at Trump Tower during the transition period, and then later met with a Russian bank executive at the Russian government’s request. Kushner also then went on to lie about the meetings on his SF-86 security clearance forms, and as Palmer Report has previously reported, lying on that form is an imprisonable felony. This new development may also mean that the FBI is privately aware of other suspicious and/or illegal Russia related activities on the part of Kushner which haven’t yet leaked out to the public.

This now raises the question of whether Jared Kushner, who serves as a White House senior adviser in addition to being Donald Trump’s son-in-law, can still retain access to sensitive information in his White House role in light of being under FBI scrutiny. Will U.S. intel agencies move to revoke his clearance? It was also widely reported that Kushner pushed Trump to fire Comey; considering what’s now known, that would make them both guilty of obstruction of justice.
