Mike Pence diverted from his west coast swing today just to fly to Indiana so he could attend an Indianapolis Colts NFL game and then walk out after some black players took a knee during the national anthem, before heading back west. The entire thing was staged, right down to Donald Trump promptly admitting on Twitter that he had instructed Pence in advance to pull the stunt. But it turns out the incident is even more staged, as Pence posted a fake photo of himself at today’s game.

Here’s the photo Mike Pence tweeted of him and his wife today:

That’s Mike Pence in the photo, alright – but it’s from a different Colts game three years ago. We know this because Pence tweeted the same photo of himself in 2014:

What is even going on here? Mike Pence was in fact at the Colts game today, according to witnesses. But he apparently decided to use a three year old photo and pretending it was taken today. He was particularly sloppy about it, as the time stamp reveals he tweeted the photo before he even arrived at the game (some have suggested Pence tweeted the old photo as evidence that he’s a longtime Colts fan, but that’s not how his tweet is presented – thus it doesn’t hold water).

Not only are Mike Pence and Donald Trump resorting to ridiculous staged stunts to try to divide the country, they’re too inept to figure out how to stage it right without getting caught.
