Several major news outlets reported that Donald Trump arrived in New York City last night for the first time since leaving office. However, no purpose for his trip has been reported, and it’s led to widespread speculation. One of the popular theories on social media is that Trump is meeting with embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But is this true?

The facts: The Trump-Netanyahu buzz began on Twitter after a tweet went viral that asked the question, “Why is Netanyahu visiting Trump in NYC?” However, not a single news outlet has reported that Netanyahu is visiting Trump, or that Netanyahu is even in New York City. Nearly every mention of the supposed Netanyahu-Trump meeting on Twitter has been in response to this same tweet, which wasn’t sourced to anything to begin with.

In summation, there is no evidence or reporting of any kind to support the claim that Trump and Netanyahu are meeting in New York, so we rate this viral claim as false.
