“I am an innocent man.” – Billy Joel

“I am an innocent man.” – Matt Gaetz

The frantic Floridian, otherwise known as Matt Gaetz (deeply worried-insurrection party-Florida), has not had a good week. First, there was the news about his alleged partner in crime Joel Greenberg. Now comes the information that Gaetz allegedly snorted cocaine with an escort at a party that occurred in 2019.

Making things worse for Matty is the fact that (once again-allegedly) this party was reportedly paid for with campaign cash. I’ll say this for Mattie, when he decides to do something terrible, he certainly goes all in, wouldn’t you say?

But it gets better. This same woman was reportedly hired for a “no-show” contract job that paid her $17,500.

What are we to make of all these lurid accusations? Well, a few things stand out. And one is that no matter what the hapless Gaetz tries to do, this story isn’t going away anytime soon. The other thing that stands out is that these are just the details we’re all hearing now. Imagine what we are not hearing.

What also stands out is the total defiance with which Gaetz is meeting the accusations. I’d say this is not a good look for him, but then again, he may actually believe that he can get away with it all.

Meanwhile, Gaetz and his partner in slime, Marjorie Taylor Greene, continue their “America First” tour, which is code for “we hate everybody but people who give us money.”

Gaetz clearly is doing whatever he can to try to change the subject, but alas, it is not working for him and won’t. I have the feeling much more will be revealed and soon.
