Bad news for Trump lawyers Sidney Powell and Lin Wood

Even as Rudy Giuliani’s disbarment dominates headlines into a second week, the rest of the Big Liar’s legal team waits to learn their fate. Judge Linda Parker had ordered attorneys in the so-called “Kraken” lawsuits to appear in her courtroom on July 6th, writing “each attorney whose name appears on any of Plaintiffs’ pleadings or briefs shall be present at the motions hearing.”

The hearing was postponed for two weeks to accommodate the vacation schedule of one of the attorneys. But things took an ominous turn for Team Krakhead when the judge DENIED (in all caps) their requests to skip the hearing and have only their attorneys present (source link).

This latest order can only mean one thing. The court is past the point of considering legal arguments in defense of their actions. This is at the stage where the principal offenders will be expected to look the judge in the eye as they acknowledge their errors and show some kind of remorse.

Remember, the courts had already established that these lawsuits were frivolous even before Sidney Powell responded to the Dominion lawsuit by stating that “no reasonable person would conclude that” the statements in her court filings were “statements of fact.” This legal hair-splitting may help her avoid a billion dollar defamation settlement, but it doesn’t bode well for the future of her ability to practice law. And she really needs the practice!

You don’t march into a courtroom and allege wrongdoing unless you can produce some evidence. If this weren’t true, the former president would already have been arrested for “suspected tax evasion” even before prosecutors had access to his tax returns.

These clowns may not know how to win a case, but they sure know how to delay justice. May they enjoy every minute of indigestion and insomnia the delay affords them!
