Whoever made this social media post in Donald Trump’s name, it sure wasn’t Donald Trump
For all of the incoherent nonsense that comes out of his mouth and all the random rabbit holes that he goes down, the one consistent thing about Donald Trump is that he’s subservient to Vladimir Putin. We’ve all spent a decade trying to piece together how much of this may be due to money, blackmail, or warped psychology. But even as much as Trump has gotten confused about who people are and taken to rambling about sharks and batteries, at the end of the day it’s all about Putin worship. So how do we explain what just happened?
Over the weekend Trump made a social media post insisting that Vladimir Putin “has gone absolutely CRAZY!” Trump then went on to talk about Putin causing the “downfall of Russia” while seemingly accusing Putin of “Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”
Okay, let’s talk about the obvious here: Donald Trump didn’t make this post. Yes, it’s been made in Trump’s name, but there’s no way possible it came from him. It’s not psychologically possible for Trump to have publicly attacked Putin like this. Anyone who’s been following Trump for the past decade understands why this post could never have come from Trump. This of course raises the question of who did make this post in Trump’s name, and why.
The problem with having a dementia-addled President of the United States is that it ultimately falls to the people around him to speak and act on his behalf. And it appears that at least one of them has decided to put this anti-Putin rant into Trump’s mouth.
Why? That’s anyone’s guess. Perhaps someone in Trump’s remaining inner circle has decided that the best way to try to save Trump’s failing presidency is to create some kind of public faux-rivalry between Trump and Putin. If the cold war saved an idiot like Reagan, perhaps someone in Trump’s camp thinks that a new cold war can save him as well. But it’s hard to imagine that actually working out well for Trump.
Then again, Trump is surrounded by the worst of the worst, the dumbest of the dumbest, the most incompetent of the most incompetent. Last time around he had a few people around him who sort of knew what they were doing, but he ended up clashing with and then running off nearly all of them. So this time he’s surrounded by yes men, parasites, and morons. And one of them now seems to be trying to create a Trump-Putin rivalry. That’s just plain stupid. But then again, so is everyone around Trump.
