We’ve done so much good. And we need to do much more. But I also want to talk about what we CAN’T do. We cannot take anything for granted. I see many celebrating on social media. And that’s good, except if we fall into the trap.

That would be the trap of complacency. “Trumpism is over!” Some have tweeted this. And there can be no doubt that this year’s midterms were a repudiation of Trump. But that doesn’t mean election deniers can’t win again. We’re not done. It would be a foolish thing to think we were — that it all ended here.

The fact is, to keep winning, we must do all the work we did leading up to the midterms. We cannot let up for a minute. We can’t rest on our laurels. We can’t let complacency take over. For example, there is the Georgia runoff. We can’t say, “the GOP won’t turn out for Walker.”

They may or they may not. We have no way of knowing. So we still have to to run like we’re ten points behind. Complacency loses elections. So please take nothing for granted ever. Do not make assumptions, and let’s work hard for Senator Warnock.

To win in Georgia means volunteering in the same way we did for the midterms. It means tweeting, donating, and phone banking—door knocking and doing anything humanly possible we can do to get Senator Warnock reelected.
