What an idiot…
Just when you think things can’t get any worse, Donald Trump rears his ugly head. He is busy doing things that will benefit his rich friends, and he then has the audacity to make up tall tales to try to explain it away. Perhaps the people who were foolish enough to vote for and continue to support him believe him, but the rest of us certainly wouldn’t buy a bridge from him.
His latest atrocity involves cuts to Medicaid and food assistance, which will devastate many people across the country, including children. Trump knows what he’s doing is wrong, so he tries to explain it in the most ridiculous way possible. According to Trump the cuts “will give everyone much more food.” What? If they needed government assistance before to secure food, how is cutting that assistance going to give them more food? That makes no sense whatsoever. When asked by a reporter following his meeting with Republicans: “You campaigned on lowering the price of groceries. How can you justify cutting food assistance?” Trump’s response will make you want to throw things at him. Well, we want to do that anyway, but his response was utterly ridiculous: “The cut is going to give everybody much more food because prices are coming way down, groceries are down, eggs. You told me about eggs, you asked me a question about eggs in my first week. …Eggs are now way down, everybody’s buying eggs. Groceries are down, energy is down, they’re buying gasoline for $1.99. If you look back, you’ll see $3,50, $4.00.”
These prices exist only in Trump’s hollow head. The nationwide average of gasoline is $3.14 per gallon. Bless his heart. He thinks we’re as stupid as he is. Walmart isn’t stupid, and Trump is mad at them because they announced their prices will go up because of Trump’s tariff. The truth hurts sometimes, doesn’t it Trump?
People are also not stupid when it comes to Trump’s hateful deeds. Incompetent Alina Habba has charged Democratic representative LaMonica Iver for her presence at the ICE detention center the night New Jersey Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested. None of them did anything to violate any rules, yet hungry on her temporary power, Habba charged her with a crime. McIver’s colleagues aren’t quietly taking this latest abuse of power from Donald Trump. This is being done to politically persecute McIver for speaking out about this administration. After arresting Baraka, Habba dismissed the charges. She knew she had nothing, and this was all done for show. The same will happen with McIver.
McIver has a duty to her constituents to inspect these facilities, and they have no right to charge her for performing her duties. Taking to X, Eric Swalwell (D-CA) wrote: “A RED LINE has been crossed. Trump is prosecuting his political enemies in Congress. This is just the beginning.” Swalwell is right about that. Democrats will not take this lying down, and many have already spoken out including New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Gerald Connolly (D-VA), and Cory Booker (D-NY). This is not going to end well for Habba, Ice Barbie, and Donald Trump. I can’t wait to see how this all ends up.
