What a loser

The tariffs have generally been a part of Donald Trump’s agenda that virtually no one is supporting – with even his own base of sycophants twisting themselves into pretzels to try and explain how it’s genius of their leader to keep pulling the same failed strategy out of the closet every month or two and delaying the worst of them while countries look to make deals elsewhere. Every month, when the delays happen, the administration likes to strut around like they won in the end, even if all they did was create more economic chaos.

The problem is that this is largely sweeping the bigger problem under the rug, when the majority of voters don’t trust Donald Trump on the economy. It seemed inevitable that Donald Trump wouldn’t be able to dodge this forever – and finally, on Wednesday, it happened in rather embarrassing fashion. During a press conference a reporter introduced a new acronym to the world – a TACO that Trump will probably never eat on his Twitter page: “Trump Always Chickens Out.”

That is, he never actually acts on the tariffs he’s been threatening and much of the world has gone wise to his act – something that Trump didn’t care to be reminded of and causing him to have yet another meltdown on camera. You know how whenever you have to keep insisting you’re not something? It tends to go poorly with convincing the people you need to convince.
