Unhinged Donald Trump declares it’s “so much fun to watch” as his antics send stock market plummeting again
Even if someone was under the mistaken impression that tariffs and trade wars were good for the economy, the past six weeks of data would have cured them of that notion. At this point you’d have to be mentally incompetent to think that Donald Trump’s trade war is going well for the United States. Unfortunately, Donald Trump is indeed mentally incompetent.
As of this moment the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down another 515 points, making clear that Wall Street has already turned against Trump’s trade war. Major US corporations are also announcing layoffs in the expectation that Trump will cause a recession. And the US consumer confidence index is plummeting, meaning average Americans think Trump is making a mess of the economy. So what does Trump have to say for himself?
He just posted some conspiracy theory involving Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and tariffs, and then declared that it’s all “So much fun to watch!” That’s right, Trump thinks this is all funny. The tanking of the US economy is all just a hilarious game to him. Nevermind that a bad economy will leave Trump with far less political muscle. He no longer even appears to understand what’s good or bad for him. He really is that far gone from coherence.
