Nancy Pelosi just spoke two words that should scare the crap out of Donald Trump
Just by announcing the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump a couple days ago, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has set off a chain of events that have caused Trump’s Ukraine whistleblower scandal to explode. The Trump regime has panicked and turned over the phone call summary and the whistleblower complaint, which both prove his guilt. The latter also proves that the effort to hide Trump’s Ukraine scandal was a massive conspiracy that engulfed large chunks of the Trump administration.
This has handed Nancy Pelosi a new opportunity. This scandal is no longer just a criminal plot against the United States on the part of Donald Trump – it’s a cover up. Sure enough, Pelosi was quick to seize on that narrative when she spoke to a group of reporters earlier today.
It’s not always true that the cover up is worse than the crime, but it frequently is. More to the point, in this instance, the cover up means that a large number of Trump’s top people are now caught up in this, and many of them are facing potential criminal liability. Cover ups unravel because, once the heat is on, the various people who participated in the coverup begin to think about how to protect themselves personally amid the fallout, as opposed to keeping the overall conspiracy under wraps.
Nancy Pelosi also said two words today that should scare Donald Trump even more. When addressing the nature of the impeachment inquiry, she said that it’s focused solely on his Ukraine whistleblower scandal “for now.” It’s easy to see why Pelosi and the Democrats are focused in on this one scandal, as it’s easy for the average American to understand, and Trump has been caught red handed. But Pelosi is signaling that this is just the beginning – and that impeachment could end up expanding to expose all of his criminal scandals.
