“Two losers on barstools”

As you know, Donald Trump and JD Vance have been taking a lot of heat since last Fridayโ€™s inexplicable disgusting and scummy White House attack on President Zelinskyy. This story, over the weekend was all anyone talked about. It is, my friends, in the news and it isn’t going away anytime soon, likely to Donald Trump’s fury.

One of my favorite analogies came from CNNโ€™s S.E. Cupp on Saturday morning. Now, itโ€™s also worth remembering that Cupp is a Republican. But sheโ€™s also one of the few Republicans who is quite fair, and very bold in taking on Donald Trump.

On Saturday, speaking to Abby Phillip, Cupp, chided both Trump and Vance for their horrific treatment of Zelenskyy. She wanted to set the record straight and not let either Donald Trump or JD Vance 1984 the American people, so she gave honest feedback, basically giving a dose of harsh reality.

Yes, the sky is indeed blue, it is the month of March, and Donald Trump and JD Vance are basically “two losers on barstools.” And I like that analogy, so of course, being a writer, I thought I must write about it. For the last decade or so, the whole small but persistent Maga movement HAS felt like a bunch of scummy miserable losers, grabbing drinks at a low-down and decrepit bar, drinking on barstools and pissing off everybody in the bar with their loud and agonizingly boring ruminations about how the world sucks and is eternally against them.

Maga is obviously an outrage machine, and not much else, but I really thought this was one of the best analogies Iโ€™ve ever heard. I really think Trump and Vance should go back to the bar, and perhaps leave the American people the heck alone.
