Twitter is becoming more aggressive toward users who post harmful false information about the coronavirus – and people named “Trump” aren’t getting a free pass. This morning Twitter suspended Donald Trump Junior for twelve hours, after he tweeted false COVID information. Now Twitter is taking action against Donald Trump as well.
Twitter has deleted multiple Donald Trump tweets from yesterday, one of which included false medical information, and one of which included lies about a protester who was murdered. While this isn’t the first action that Twitter has taken against Donald Trump, it’s now happening more frequently – making clear he’ll be cracked down upon every time he violates the rules.
Donald Trump’s Twitter rants this morning have made no mention (thus far) of the deleted tweets. We’ll see if he ends up whining and crying about it, or if he’s come to accept that he can no longer tweet harmful false information and simply get away with it.
