Trump just threw his own lawyers under the bus
The judges have spoken, and their order is to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home. Donald Trump could do so if he were so inclined. I submit that all it would take is a phone call, yet Trump has not done so. But Trump is probably seeing the same polls we are — that the American people want Garcia returned. And so Trump, like any spineless, and idiotic sociopath, is doing what Donald Trump does best — blaming other people.
In his interview with Time, Donald Trump had a new take on this Trump-induced mess. It’s everyone else’s fault! Yes, yes, Trump told Time. Garcia could be brought back. It “WOULDN’T BOTHER ME.” It wouldn’t bother him. Are you listening? Judges? I have no doubt that they are, and that this “wouldn’t bother me” will appear inked across the paper of some attorney’s imminent legal filing.
But, Trump went on, cluelessly, it’s up to his lawyers! And they say NO! “They (the lawyers) just don’t want to do that,” Trump said, blissfully, throwing his hapless lawyers under the bus, perhaps to be held in contempt of court. Better than him, his mind likely whispered.
“They (the lawyers once again) say we’re in total compliance with the Supreme court.” Ah, the criminal mind. How sleazy it is! What levers it does pull to extricate itself from messes like THIS. But that’s not it. When asked if he was facilitating Garcia’s release, trump dismissively waved away the question, once again putting it all on his own lawyers.
“I don’t make that decision,” Trump actually said. Well now! Glad to know that! So, Judges, I suppose now you can hold Pam Bondi and every attorney representing Trump in contempt! Maybe even give them a few days in the pokey! And as for YOU, Trump’s loyal attorneys — you asked for it!
After all, your star client just said it’s YOUR decision, that YOU are the ones defying the supreme court, and not him, that its YOUR ass on the dais, ready to be feasted on by imperious judges, that it’s YOU who are defying lawful orders. You are now in the crossfires of pissed-off Judges, and you have your own client to thank for that.
