Tom Perez for Joe Biden’s Attorney General? Don’t believe the hype.
All of the many leaks thus far about people being “in consideration” for a Biden job have proven false. Which means Biden doesn’t leak names who are in consideration. Which means these are made up stories, not real leaks. I wouldn’t worry about this leak that Tom Perez is for Attorney General. It’s probably as false as any other “in consideration” leak.
If you’re not in consideration for a political job you want, you have a friend leak to the media that you are in consideration, and you hope that the resulting media attention ends up putting you into contention. I’m not specifically accusing Perez of doing this, but these kinds of leaks are just standard procedure in politics.
I don’t even blame people for leaking their own names. I blame the media for running with what it knows are false leaks, just to drum up ratings. But the media always gets away with it. When the pick ends up being someone else, the public just assumes the president changed his mind. These antics won’t stop until the public learns to spot them.
