Hermes, in Greek Mythology, is a deity and considered the herald of the Gods. He was the most nimble of messengers because of his winged sandals. Hermes was the deliverer of the messages. And if Hermes were delivering a letter to the state of Arizona today, it would undoubtedly be: watch out.
Arizona Republicans have picked as their nominee for Governor, a dangerous woman who could definitely give Donald Trump a run for his money in the crazy category. Her name is Kari Lake, and she is insane. Lake is a hard-core election denier. She spouts off bizarre conspiracy theories regularly, and her rhetoric is enough to turn one’s blood cold. She mustn’t win.
It did not seem at first that Lake would win. She was behind, undoubtedly, because SOME Arizonians are indeed sane. But alas! She is who they have picked to go up against our candidate Katie Hobbs in November.
This is a race where time and energy must be spent educating Arizonians as to what a loony bird Lake is. Hobbs needs to win this race, and she needs to win big. It is not just Lake. Senator Mark Kelly is defending his seat, and we must help him do just that. Arizona has only begun its purple shift. We need to make sure it continues.
