Donald Trump somehow lost the second presidential debate to Savannah Guthrie. That’s remarkable when you consider that 1) the debate didn’t even happen, 2) Guthrie wasn’t even supposed to have been last night’s debate moderator, and 3) Trump would have done much better if he’d simply stayed home.
I’m one of Donald Trump’s biggest critics, and even I didn’t think Trump could screw it up as badly as he did last night. There are almost no words. To give you an idea of how badly Trump’s night has been going, when Guthrie chastised him for his deranged retweets by saying “it’s not like you’re someone’s crazy uncle,” his niece Mary Trump tweeted “Actually…”
In the eyes of the majority of Americans, Donald Trump is a sad punchline to a deadly joke that they’re tired of hearing. Many of the people voting against Trump see it as the most patriotic thing they’ve ever done in their lives – and that tells you all you need to know about how badly this is all going for him.
