This just got even uglier for Trump nominee Pete Hegseth
Senate Republicans are still going ahead with confirmation hearings for Donald Trump’s nomination of Fox News host Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense – a sentence that makes less sense every time we type it. But things just keep getting uglier for Hegseth by the day.
After Hegseth’s former sister-in-law accused Hegseth yesterday of being so abusive that his ex-wife had to hide from him in a closet, new allegations have surfaced today. Former co-workers now claim that Hegseth once got drunk in a bar and chanted “kill all Muslims” in a “violent manner.” It’s not clear how you chant something in a violent manner, but it can’t be good.
It’s just the latest allegation against Pete Hegseth, whose troubles continue to pile up. His confirmation hearing, if it gets that far, is going to be an embarrassing dumpster fire for Trump and Senate Republicans. We’ll see if they bounce Hegseth like they bounced Matt Gaetz, or if they’ll continue letting Hegseth make them look bad.
