This is pure unadulterated garbage

Have you ever felt — diminished — Like you were being treated badly by someone, that YOUR needs didn’t matter? It’s a pretty terrible feeling. And right now it’s the American people — collectively — who are being diminished. We’re ALL being diminished by the Republican party.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins has said people need to “get off “Medicaid.” Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to stop talking about people who are playing the Medicaid system. Dr. Mehmet Oz says people must “prove they matter” or words to that effect — to get Medicaid. All over the country, the party in red is diminishing the American people.

Make no mistake, there are only two reasons why they’re doing this, and neither one has to do with any concern at all for their constituents, whom they don’t give a damn about. Reason one — they want to raid Medicaid and use the money for tax breaks for their rich friends, and two –– It’s what Donald Trump wants

That’s it. But can’t you see it? Can’t you see the inhumanity, the indifference, the utter disregard for human life, for people, for the needs of so many? The Republicans get the same data we do. They know so many people depend on Medicaid. It isn’t that they don’t KNOW it. It IS that they don’t care about it.

In my opinion, that makes them unworthy. It renders them unworthy of holding political office at all. Politicians make lots of promises when they run for elected office, and they’re not always able to keep every promise they make. We know that. However, this is pure, unadulterated garbage. The coldness, the icy indifference to human suffering, is straight out of a dystopian novel and does not match up with America’s values and inclusiveness.

All -inclusiveness is not just about race and religion and gender. It also includes the sick, the disabled, and the oppressed. We, as Democrats, love these people, understand them, and nurture them. We also understand that nobody is any better than anybody else, whether they’re a wealthy millionaire or living in abject poverty.

This, after all, is at the core of who we are and how we manifest our policies and ideas. If the American people were to be given a choice of doors to slide through — to live in a world where there are two sliding glass doors leading to two alternate universes, and behind one door is compassionate and humanitarianism, while the other holds… well, nothing, I would hope people always choose the first door.

And I believe they would. But getting the word out is all part of it. As Bill Palmer has said, it isn’t the message that’s wrong; it’s the way we transmit it, its our frequency, made more difficult because of the obstinate both siding done by the media.

The American people should never have to fight for equality or prove their worth as rotten apples like Mr. Oz say. Instead, they should be treated — ALL OF THEM –with kindness and human decency. Let’s ensure they are — by winning the midterms and achieving a complete sweep.
