This is just plain stupid

The Trump administration is, or should be, well known for its lies. Donald Trump is a prolific liar, and he managed to surround himself with like people. Why people are so enamored with Donald Trump is puzzling. Despite his constant lying, enough people voted for him to put him back in the White House, where he is now far worse than he ever was before. It’s very difficult to feel for all the people who are now regretting their votes because Trump showed us who he is a long time ago. Why some people suddenly thought he had changed is and will remain a mystery. One of the more interesting things about people who are regretting their votes is that their regret is based on selfish reasons or they were simply not paying attention. Either way, they are not now concerned about any of the things the Trump administration is doing to harm people on a wide scale.

CNN spoke with one fired federal worker who now regrets voting for Trump. Is she angry about Medicaid being cut off from those who need it? What about Medicare? What about immigrants who are being denied due process? None of that. Ryleigh Cooper, with whom CNN spoke, is mad because she believed Trump’s promise to make IVF free. Really? Is that all she can find that Trump has done wrong? The government doesn’t pay for abortions. Why in the world did she think they would pay for conception? Besides, the way they are cutting benefits left and right for children, she would not have had any help raising her child had she been able to conceive.

Then, there is the former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services employee (unnamed) who was laid off three weeks into her job because she was probationary, which made it easier to terminate her. Why did she vote for Trump? Inflation. Inflation had reduced to an historic low during President Biden’s administration. Why did it need “fixing,” and who in their right mind thought Donald Trump the right man for the job? She’s now sorry because she lost her job. If these people can look past their own selfish issues, they might just see how bad Republicans and especially Trump are for all of us.

At a recent town hall in Iowa, Senator Joni Ernst got more than she bargained for from her constituents who all came to complain about Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” One person shouted from the audience that people “are going to die” because of the massive cuts to Medicaid. Showing her true care (or lack thereof) for people who voted her into office, Ernest said: “Well, we’re all going to die.” Yes, part of the human experience is death. Death does not, however, need to be hastened because of greed. What should be part of the human experience is empathy, care for others, and thinking about someone other than yourself for a change. Republicans possess none of those traits. All they care about is money and those who have it, though they don’t care about them either, just their money.
