This is just embarrassing for JD Vance
If you agree to be Donald Trump’s Vice President, you know you’re setting yourself up for a whole lot of subservience, humiliation, blame-shouldering, and in the case of Mike Pence, a possible demise in a domestic terrorist attack incited by Trump himself. If anything, things are going even more humiliatingly for JD Vance than they ever did for Pence.
Earlier this week one of Elon Musk’s government agency hackers resigned after the media exposed numerous racist social media posts he’d made in the past. But now Musk is vowing to hire the guy back, after JD Vance of all people publicly insisted upon it. The surreal part: one of the racist posts in question was an attack on Indian people, and Vance’s wife is – you guessed it – of Indian ethnicity.
This is the kind of humiliating thing you have to do in order to be Trump’s sidekick and keep him happy enough that he doesn’t oust you. If nothing else, JD Vance understands this sick game and is willing to play it. Then there’s Musk, who doesn’t understand the game at all, and may not last long in the Trump regime because of it.
