This is deranged

As the GOP is trying to pass a budget where we won’t find out how ultimately destructive it is until it actually passes, the media would much rather talk about something that isn’t on the minds of most people: President Biden. A lot has clearly been riding on Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s upcoming book with just about the entirety of CNN pushing the content of it whenever they have a Democratic leaning guest.
When I heard the book was coming out, I wasn’t particularly concerned – as it didn’t seem like either of those two had much content that was surprising or urgent. Now it seems that they have a bigger problem, as they had absolutely no foreknowledge of the former president’s recent diagnosis.
There are other problems with the book itself. One obvious one is that the Trumpers that Tapper and Thompson were hoping would buy the book likely won’t, as they’ve pretty much associated both of those guys with the whole so-called “liberal media” and don’t trust them. Another issue that’s a pretty red flag is how Jaime Harrison and a number of other people cited in crucial scenes of the book don’t actually remember the incidents described, which means they were never called to verify details.
This makes for pretty poor reporting, to say the least. The best move from here is to dismiss this rhetoric out of hand whenever someone wants to bring up the past: We’re only interested in moving forward – as it should be. Regardless of what the pundits want to make 2028 about, it won’t be about rehashing what happened five or six years earlier, and that’s probably why we’re seeing CNN fall apart: They can’t control their access and what they want to talk about.
