This is catastrophic

The Republican House passed a catastrophic spending bill that gives their most loyal donors a generous tax cut while bleeding everyone else. This is the truth no matter how they try and spin it and regardless of whatever cuts they try and save us from.
Donald Trump is trying to spin this as doing what he can to protect Medicaid, but of course, he’s tacitly giving Republicans permission to destroy what he can of government programs people need to rely on so he can try blaming it on Democratic governors. The short is: Republicans – with one vote – just gave us back the House.
The bill is at odds with what at least 60% of the country would have preferred: People paying their taxes who make more than enough money in order to reduce the debt. Despite claiming they wanted to make life more affordable for everyday Americans, Republicans have made it clear that they’re doing no such thing.
It’s easy to fall into despair – but the bill is going to go to the Senate where Senate Republicans are likely going to make changes to it – at least igniting conversations that make it all sound more terrible. Therefore, the way to power through it is to keep reminding these clowns that with one vote, they’re willing to throw away their keys to the House, possibly the Senate – and good riddance if they do.
