This is absolutely terrible news for Susan Collins
Over the past two years, Susan Collins has unfortunately gone from being one of the most reasonable and respected Republican Senators, to being a dishonest extremist who has cast her lot with monsters like Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh.
The good news is that Susan Collins is up for reelection in this election cycle. The even better news for us, and absolutely terrible news for her, is that she’s now solidly losing. The race between Collins and Democratic candidate Sara Gideon had been a roughly tied race for awhile, which was a bad enough sign for a high profile incumbent at this stage of the race. But now the latest Bangor Daily News poll says that Gideon has pulled ahead of Collins by a whopping eight points among registered voters.
This new eight point poll comes within the context of multiple other recent polls which have Gideon ahead of Collins by four to five points. This makes for a polling average which leaves no doubt that Gideon is currently winning. You can learn more about Sara Gideon’s campaign here.
