The Washington Post just jumped the shark
“Fascism lives in darkness.” This should be the new slogan of the Washington Post. Jeff Bezos is doing his best to bring down the once-democracy loving paper. After numerous top journalists left the Post due to the actions of its self-absorbed owner, the paper seems on the verge of utter failure.
More people have canceled subscriptions. All over, it is a mirage of vanishing subscribers, and this fact appears not to be bothering Bezos in the least, The Post is reportedly hiring right-wing journalists. The Post’s publisher, Will ‘Fox News’ Lewis, spoke with Eliana Johnson, an editor for the right-wing paper, the Washington Free Beacon. In this meeting, he reportedly asked her for help and direction in finding right-wing reporters.
It’s obvious what Bezos is doing here. Not only is he bending the knee to Trump, but he’s also doing back-flips to please him. Bezos will learn the hard way that this idea of his, no doubt motivated by greed, does not stand a chance of working.
Why? How many outlets have tried this? Does anyone remember CNN’s Chris Licht? Where’s he now? I rest my case. Maga will never trust the Post. And there is a huge surplus of MAGA-friendly news outlets. So why on earth would any Maga wake up one day and say: I’m gonna switch to the post?
Bezos is also doing the kiss-GOP-ass smooch because he’s worried about Government contracts. But Bezos, however, bright he may be, is not a journalist, and has no idea what goes into making a good newspaper. He has no clue. None.
So, by all means, Bezos, knock yourself out! Your paper will continue to lose valued subscriptions, and at some point, you will watch as other outlets with bosses far more courageous than you, pick up your lost subscribers as you plunge to the bottom of the barrel, which should and will, rightfully happen soon.
