Many people have trouble falling asleep. The reasons for this vary. But one common cause is being unable to shut one’s mind off. This makes sense. We go about our lives all day, and sleep-time is when we are finally alone with ourselves — and our thoughts.

And often, those thoughts come in strong waves, crashing through our minds, keeping us from sleeping and causing worry and stress. Do you think Republicans sleep well at night? For some of them, I doubt it.

That’s because the GOP is carrying a significant weight that might be causing them to toss and turn. It’s the weight of their bullshit. Since we heard the news that Donald Trump is being investigated for espionage, the GOP has twisted themselves into pretzels trying to defend him.

That seems to be ALL they do. Their lives have been reduced to being no more than spokespeople for a traitor being investigated for espionage. So imagine, if you will, if the GOP denounced him. Think about what that would look like. What if the whole party publicly shunned him? What could he do about that?

This would certainly free the non-party from the load of bullshit they carry. Imagine how light they would feel if they just said no to Donald Trump. If, say, 50 Senators and Congresspeople came forward and gave a statement denouncing him, it would go a long way. And maybe they could sleep at night.

The sins the GOP are committing right now will haunt some of them. Look, we all know most Republicans do not like Donald Trump. Most of them likely despise him.

They can’t SAY that only because of corruption, power-hungry madness, and fear. But imagine if they did. It would be an instantly freeing experience. The daily grind of trying to avoid reporters would immediately go away.It would mean freedom. But they won’t do it.

That’s because they don’t know how. They twist and turn, contorting with agony, not understanding that their despair could be over in a minute if they just said no to Donald Trump.

But self-analysis is not something most of them are humanly capable of. So I expect more sleepless nights for the GOP, more feverish avoidance, and more lies as they walk even further into the darkness they’re unaware could be lifted in a minute.
