The real story when it comes to the Republicans and Putin

The eight House Republicans who just voted to protect Vladimir Putin should be condemned for it. But they’re not the story. The story is that more than 90% of House Republicans just voted against Putin, meaning the GOP is now running scared from its own pro-Putin platform of the past five years. We can use this against them in the midterms.

Numerous House Republicans in swing districts are already on record as having sided with Russia, having protected Putin, or at the least having failed to condemn Trump’s pro-Putin antics. Now they’ve flip flopped. Swing voters hate flip flippers. This is the stuff that midterm campaign ads are made of.

House Democrats keep begging us to use this stuff as part of our activism. It’s time we stop whining about the Democrats supposed “messaging problem” long enough to actually listen to what they’re saying, and start working with them on this messaging heading into the midterms.
