The numbers say Biden isn’t the one who’s in trouble. Trump is.

I’ve largely avoided commenting on the media’s drop out movement because nothing I’ve said before about it has really been made irrelevant. No matter what, we’re dealing with a close election, and we would be even if the nominee were Vice President Harris. As much as I’d love to win a landslide on the scale of President Clinton’s 1996 re-election, or Sen. Obama’s first presidential election back in 2008, the country is far more polarized than it was in either of those eras – and we also have a media that’s going to play up those differences as much as it can to give us a horse race.

President Biden has made his decision clear that he intends to stay in the race and despite the polling that doomers have been showing to make their case, there’s actually one pretty important piece of data that they should probably consider: the same AP-NORC poll also shows that 57% of Americans feel Donald Trump should withdraw from the race AND ask his party to select a different candidate.

Included in that number are a full 26% of Republicans. While polls haven’t really shown themselves reliable over the last cycle, it’s rare for a poll to be off by 30 or 40 points. Make no mistake, Donald Trump is not popular, and he would need to grow his popularity if he were to make any inroads from 2020. It’s clear that if Democrats unite – with the message that Donald Trump is an unprecedented danger, a message that seems to already be getting through to much of the country, we can and will win. Let’s do that and re-elect President Biden with a trifecta on Nov 5. Donate
