When the January 6th Committee voted tonight to recommend that Mark Meadows be held in criminal contempt, it did more than just lay out the legal basis for why he’s guilty of contempt.

The 1/6 committee cleverly used the Mark Meadows contempt referral to also spell out Meadows’ underlying crimes, from helping plot a coup, to the felony election tampering he committed in Georgia. The committee is clearly and publicly pushing the Department of Justice to indict Meadows not just for contempt, but for everything else under the sun.

Mark Meadows is going to prison. The contempt referral alone will end up taking care of that. At this point the only question is what other charges he might end up facing in addition to contempt, and how long he goes away for. No wonder Meadows has been flip flopping about whether or not to cooperate. He knows he’s screwed either way.
