So that was a complete disaster for Donald Trump

We are always reading and writing about “president” Donald Trump living in an alternate reality. Apparently, there are others living with him. On top of that, some of them are just plain dumb. Various news outlets have reported their incredulity at the fact that so few RNC speakers mentioned the pandemic. Instead, they are all obsessed with their story that electing Joe Biden will lead to murder, mayhem, and the horrors of socialism. Mike Pence even had the nerve to talk about violence, after a Trump supporter murdered two protesters in Kenosha and gravely wounded a third. Heaven forbid any of them mention that the bulk of the violence at protests is being perpetrated by troublemakers like the one in Kenosha.

No one wants to hear this nonsense about Trump’s “law and order” presidency, nor do they want hypocritical Mike Pence questioning Joe Biden’s faith when he himself does not practice what he preaches. Hypocrisy and lies: that was the real theme of the Republican National Convention. In fact, the lies were so bad that the New York Times and CNN fact checked each night. NPR joined in the fact-checking once Mike Pence gave his ridiculous speech.

According to NPR, Pence warned that “a Biden administration would threaten American freedoms and crumble the nation’s economy.” News flash, Pence: the economy is already crumbling under your watch. A few of his most outlandish claims included his allegation that Biden “supports taxpayer funding of abortion, right up to the moment of birth.” NPR quashed this claim on both accounts. Biden seeks to codify Roe v. Wade and wants to resume funding Planned Parenthood. As for Pence’s ridiculous claim “up to the moment of birth,” the CDC reported that approximately 1% of abortions occur after 21 weeks. Biden is Catholic, but unlike Trump and Pence, Biden wants what the people want, and 61% want abortions to remain legal.

Pence also brought up defunding the police, in which Biden has repeatedly and consistently denied an interest. Pence further claimed that Biden wants to abolish fossil fuel, end fracking, and change climate regulations “that would drastically increase the cost of living for working families.” In fact, Biden wants climate change initiatives that will create better paying, unionized jobs, and NPR reported that Biden wants to ban new oil and gas drilling on public lands.

One of the worst of Pence’s claims is that Biden wants to increase taxes by $4 trillion. Biden’s proposal will raise the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%, which NPR stated is still lower than in 2016, and he wants to raise taxes on those making over $400,000. The Tax Policy Center did the math, and 80% of Biden’s increases would impact only the 5% richest Americans. The Center further states that Biden’s policies would raise taxes $4 trillion over the next 10 years.

So, there you have it. Either Mike Pence is dumb or lying, not that one is better than the other. The dumbest award, however, goes to Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, who quoted Abraham Lincoln on something that he never even said. Perhaps Lara should try some fact-checking herself.
