“Secretary of Defense” Pete Hegseth is off to an awful start

Pete Hegseth’s first day on the job started in a completely wacky fashion as he told reporters that the United States plans to follow Israel in the Iron Dome approach.

If you recall, when Donald Trump was a candidate, he often spoke about iron domes. But Hegseth, who is clearly taking orders from Trump, seems to be a little bit behind the times when it comes to the feasibility of doing this kind of thing.

Perhaps heโ€™s hungover. Maybe heโ€™s just lost in the realms of another failing fantasy. But this is a wacky idea. First of all, who will cover the cost for of this? People on social media and message boards also posted this question. Some wonder if troll-wonderboy Elon Musk will dole out the cash. Somehow, I doubt it.

Where are we going to get the money for this extremely expensive move? This makes no sense whatsoever. Weโ€™re already in debt, up to our eyeballs. I thought the Republicans were the party of bringing down the debt. That would not seem to be the case here at all.

Even if we did find a way to pay for thisโ€”letโ€™s say all the Republicans join together and buy the winning Powerball ticket and use itโ€”Israel is much smaller in size than the United States. Someone on social media put it perfectly when they stated, “Israel is the size of New Jersey,” so this approach could work for them (Israel), but it wouldnโ€™t work for us.

My feeling is that this is just another thing that will never happen. Donald Trump likes to bloviate and talk big. In fact, Iโ€™m going to make another prediction. I think that 90% of what he says will never happen. Obviously, some terrible thingsโ€”, the deportations sadly have already started, much as I hate to write those words. So, the Trump team does seem to fully intend to deport a lot of people.

But this is something else again. However, it does show that Hegseth is taking total direction from Donald Trump, which means that Petey probably wonโ€™t be long in this job because Donald Trump is incompetent, senile, and a moron. If Pete Hegseth is basing his entire professional career now on what Donald Trump tells him to do, he wonโ€™t in reality be doing anything at all.

This is the fight of our lives. Donald Trump and his unelected henchmen are actively trying to destroy our government, our democracy, and our way of life. We only have one choice, and that's to fight back as loudly and aggressively as possible.
