Score one for the Democrats

With all the talk of Iran, what has been lost is that congratulations are in order as Democrats have just scored a significant victory. As you know, Senators have been hard at work on the “big ugly bill.” And one part of this (awful) bill has been removed.
You see, the GOP, weak little worshipers of insurrection that they are, had slipped in a provision that, of course, would have benefited big chief dunder head, That provision was intended to cancel the ability of anyone seeking court injunctions against anything related to Trump.
Anyone seeking this type of injunction would have had to pay a fee first. This fee would “be equal to the cost and damages sustained by the federal government if it were to ultimately win the case.” It is one of the most ridiculous things ever to be included in a bill, I am sure. This GOP add-on makes no sense, but as you know, when King Moron snaps his fingers and calls, eager Republican lambs go running toward him. However, that portion has now gone FINITO.
The reason for the removal was that this rule did not meet the standards of the Byrd rule. The Byrd rule states that provisions must be related solely to taxes and spending and not to other matters. So bye-bye, idiotic provision. The GOP lost this round, and Democrats are cheering.
Senate Minority Leader Schumer said: “Senate Republicans tried to write Donald Trump’s contempt for the courts into law — gutting judicial enforcement, defying the Constitution, and bulldozing the very rule of law that forms our Democracy.”
Ah — there’s nothing quite so pathetic as a little obedient cult member doing absurd things. Yes, the Senate is every bit as corrupted as the House. All the Senate has in the Republican Party is a group of glassy-eyed cult members who stare fixedly at their vulture of a leader, waiting for him to feast on the carcass of the rule of law — only it isn’t working.
Try as though they might, try as they will, to play tug-rope with the rule of law, the GOP is finding out the hard way that they cannot get whatever they want, that the rule of law still exists, and that they are being exposed as the unserious little followers they are.
